S and S+ Tier Crates
Wood Crate ($25, S tier) is the undisputed early-game king. No other crate returns investment faster when your plot has empty tiles. New players should buy Wood until the grid is nearly full — typically 15–25 crates depending on plot size. Wood is also useful as a cheap filler when you need placement quantity over quality.
Mega Crate ($500,000, S+ tier) is the endgame crate for Mythic and Cosmic drill hunters. The price is steep, but the drop pool is the only reliable path to S-tier drills. Open Mega crates only with Luck Totem III (+30%), 2x Mutation Chance (199 R$), and a CPS income that regenerates $500K within an hour of play.
The gap between Wood and Mega defines My Drill Farm progression. Every other crate tier exists to bridge players from a full Wood plot to their first Mega Crate budget without stalling.
A Tier — Bronze and Silver
Bronze Crate ($150, A tier) and Silver Crate ($500, A tier) smooth the transition after Wood saturation. Bronze offers slightly better drill odds than Wood without the sticker shock of Gold. Silver introduces meaningful Uncommon and Rare drops that start replacing Copper and Iron tiles.
Buy Bronze when Wood crates no longer fill empty slots — you are upgrading quality, not quantity. Buy Silver when total CPS is $500/s–$1K/s and you want Steel-tier ($50/s) replacements without committing $2,500 per open.
Neither crate is a long-term destination. Treat A-tier crates as a two-to-three session bridge, then move spending to Gold and Ruby.
B Tier — Gold and Ruby
Gold Crate ($2,500, B tier) unlocks Rare drills like the Gold Drill ($200/s). It is the first crate that feels "expensive" and should be bought only when Wood spam no longer increases total CPS because your plot is full. Gold is B-tier because Ruby outclasses it once you can afford $15K opens.
Ruby Crate ($15,000, B tier) is the mid-game workhorse for Ruby Drill ($1K/s) drops and mutation hunting. Most players spend 50+ hours in the Ruby crate phase. Stack luck totems and mutation passes here for Golden and Diamond mutation rolls.
Ruby crates fund themselves once your plot exceeds $15K/s total CPS — one login collection equals one open. Below that threshold, return to Wood or Gold temporarily to rebuild your economy.
C Tier and Buying Strategy
Diamond Crate ($75,000, C tier) offers high-end drill odds but sits in an awkward price bracket. Players who can afford Diamond often save a bit longer for Mega. Players who cannot afford Diamond comfortably should stay on Ruby. Diamond is C-tier for efficiency, not for drill quality — the drops are good, the price-per-value is mediocre.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the best crate in Make a Drill Farm?
Wood Crate ($25) is the best early-game crate with S-tier ROI. Mega Crate ($500,000) is the best endgame crate for Mythic and Cosmic drill odds, rated S+ for late progression.
When should I stop buying Wood Crates?
Stop when your plot is full and total CPS exceeds roughly $2K–$5K/s. At that point Gold Crates ($2,500) and Ruby Crates ($15,000) offer better drill upgrades per dollar spent.
Are Diamond Crates worth it?
Diamond Crates ($75,000) are B-tier value — better than Gold for drill quality but expensive relative to Ruby for most mid-game budgets. Buy Diamond when Ruby opens feel too slow to move your CPS needle.
How does 2x Crate Speed affect tier value?
The 2x Crate Speed Game Pass (129 R$) doubles delivery rate for all crate tiers equally. It increases the value of spam strategies — especially Wood and Ruby bulk buys — more than it changes tier rankings.
Should I open crates with Luck Totems active?
Always activate Luck Totems before opening Gold-tier and above crates. The +5% to +30% rare chance disproportionately improves Ruby, Diamond, and Mega crate outcomes.
